With Ireland’s World Cup hopes being all but gone, many people are wondering who the Irish could support for the remainder of the competition.

2 teams the Irish could support at the World Cup 2022.

Supporting a nation that isn’t your own is never going to feel right in the World Cup – but if you still want to have a good time and make the most out of this prestigious tournament, then finding a team to back is going to be well within your best interests.

Luckily, there are a few teams out there that would be perfect for the mass influx of neutral Irish fans, and if you are currently looking for a team to support, we are going to have you covered.

Let’s just jump straight into it and take a look at two teams that the Irish could support in the Qatar World Cup.

    Croatia – the underdogs

Croatia is not usually a nation that is talked about all too much when it comes to the World Cup.

Moreover, this is precisely why they would be a prime choice for anyone looking for a team to support. Everyone loves an underdog, and Croatia is just that.

Croatia’s finalised World Cup team is looking incredibly promising, so much so that it would not be a surprise if they managed to beat out some other notorious teams on their way to the top.

There is a growing community of people out there that think Croatia is going into the World Cup top eight as an underrated gem, and they may end up being one of the prime upsets throughout the competition.

This is something that is even reflected on betting websites/platforms – the current World Cup bets put Croatia high above what most people were expecting.

If you want to have a World Cup that is full of excitement, supporting Croatia could be an amazing decision, and you may just end up backing a team that has the potential to make it incredibly far into the competition.

Brazil – always a strong contender

Brazil is always going to be a good option for anyone looking to support a World Cup team.

The question of why is Brazil good at football is one that has been asked for aeons, and it goes without saying that Brazil is one of the most successful football nations of all time.

If you want to support a team that could win the whole competition, then Brazil would be a prime choice, and it is highly likely that your journey with them is going to be incredibly positive. It is not very often Brazil loses, and when they do, it’s always a spectacle.

You just cannot go wrong with Brazil, and for all intents and purposes, there would be no better choice if finishing well is something you care about.

We hope this article will be of use to you. We know how devastating it can be when your home nation doesn’t manage to make it into the World Cup – but that’s not to say that you still can not enjoy the tournament to its fullest extent.

Whether you choose to support either of the teams we have mentioned in this article or a team of your choosing matters very little – as long as you choose a team that you can truly get behind, you will be golden.

We hope you have the best World Cup experience ever, and if you dedicate yourself fully to supporting a team that you truly believe in, then we have no doubt that you will have an amazing time. Have fun.
