Father Ted fans rejoice as TedFest returns on 2 March to 5 March as Inis Mór, Aran Islands, becomes the legendary Craggy Island once more.

Expect lots of tea and sandwiches as per usual at TedFest 2023 and all the usual high jinx activities of the annual festival.
Taking place from Thursday, 2 March to Sunday, 5 March, Inis Mór is transformed once again into the magical, mythical Craggy Island.
TedFest 2023 – a long weekend of all things Father Ted

One of the most highly anticipated events of the Irish calendar, TedFest returns to the Emerald Isle at the start of next month.
Organisers Peter Phillips from Cardiff and Galway native Fergal McGrath dreamt up the idea for TedFest in 2007.
They never wanted the festival to be like conventional TV festivals, once telling RTE, “We never wanted TedFest to be like of those events held in a big function room where fans pay five quid for an autograph and a picture with someone who appeared in the second episode of the fifth season”.
This year, you can expect appearances from original cast members Father Damo, played by Joe Rooney, and Eoin McLove, played by Patrick McDonnell.
What’s on this year – completely off-the-wall madness

This year’s event is set to be some craic. Planned events include Priest v Nuns Beach Volleyball, Buckaroo and Movie Charades. The following are the main events:
- The Lovely Girls Competition
- Ted’s Got Talent
- The Ronnie Drew Hour (Beards Mandatory)
- The Virtual Confession Box
- Craggy Island’s fittest family
- The Father Ted Prizeless Quiz
- The Craggy Cup
- Matchmaking with Nellie
- The Pirate Cruise
- Trad for Trocaire
- A Walking Tour to the Amish Community
Anyone who has been before will know that the festival is a barrel of laughs and complete madness. Celebrating all things Father Ted, Galway Tourism says, “mayhem and total chaos are not just inevitable but desirable”.
14th annual event – bigger and better than ever

TedFest 2023 sees the event in its 14th year. The event will see Inis Mór taken on by huge numbers of Father Ted fans, usually donned as nuns and priests or other characters from the show.
Those in attendance celebrate Dermot Morgan and the 90s cult classic that is Father Ted, created by Graham Linehan and Arthur Matthews.
With a series of theme games, songs, events, and more, it’s set to be a long weekend of some craic. To register for tickets, head to http://www.tedfest.org.
