Dublin is one of the top-visited destinations across the globe, but we feel utterly sorry for those who have to arrive and depart at Dublin Airport – one of the worst airports there is, and here is why.

10 reasons why Dublin Airport is f**ing s**t.

We are sure many of these reasons will ring true for those who have ever taken a flight from Dublin International Airport.

Still, for those who have yet to experience it, you may need to mentally prepare yourself for the journey that comes with navigating this crazy place.

While there may be a few good things about Dublin Airport, like US pre-clearance, for instance, there are far more annoying things which make this one of the most frustrating airports to visit.

So, let us unveil the ten reasons why Dublin Airport is f***ing s**t, which will leave you reconsidering your need for a holiday.

      • 9. Crazy parking prices – the price you pay for convenience
      • 8. A haven for cancelled flights – don’t get your hopes up
      • 7. Terminal 2 has no Boots – the best place for a meal deal
      • 6. No efficiency – not the place to relax
      • 5. Baggage delays – a game of hide and seek
      • 4. Expensive prices – it’s just outrageous

Dublin Airport has good connections to major cities, but God forbid you to get somewhere that is not on these routes because it will take forever or cost a fortune with a taxi. Why can’t there be a widespread modern metro system?

One of the main reasons why Dublin Airport is f***ing s**t is the insane parking prices, which are outrageous, especially in the short-term car park, so booking in advance or parking further away is the only way to prevent being ripped off.

We all know about the chaos at Dublin International Airport when it comes to missed flights, so it is always in the back of your mind not to get your hopes up when arriving for your much-anticipated holiday.

While there are other places to get your snacks and meals, Boots is the best place to get your classic affordable meal deal on your flight – but only if you depart from Terminal 1, which is a crying shame.

    6. No efficiency – not the place to relax

The lack of efficiency is one of the reasons why Dublin Airport is f**ing s**t.

Dublin Airport always keeps you on your toes, so if you thought you could get there early, have a pint, go to your gate and board your flight as quickly as that, you’d be wrong. Be mentally prepared for last-minute gate changes, cancelled flights, terminal changes and long delays.

    5. Baggage delays – a game of hide and seek

If queues weren’t bad enough, one of the main reasons why Dublin Airport is atrocious is the hassle that comes with collecting your baggage. Dublin Airport loves to play hide and seek with every passenger’s belongings, so best to bring carry-on only.

    4. Expensive prices – it’s just outrageous

This has to be one of the top reasons why Dublin Airport is f***ing s**t. Still, despite the incredible prices, Irish people will always begin their holiday with a few goodies and the classic airport pint, which already eats into the holiday budget.

    3. Queues – leave plenty of time

Dublin Airport is notorious for the insane queues, so much so that it’s best to show up for your flight the day before to ensure you will make it on time. Prepare for long lines of people checking in and going through security – let’s not even talk about the chaos during the pandemic.

    2. Drop-off areas are a nightmare – just don’t do it to yourself

Drop-off areas are handy for dropping people off for their flights, but this is only an option if you are willing to navigate the chaos that comes with it; plus, it is sneakily used by people picking people up, which just adds to the chaos. Make sure to have a coffee before trying to attempt this struggle.

    1. Locals hate it – the most frustrating airport

One of the reasons why Dublin Airport is f**ing s**t is that locals hate it.

We urge you to find a local who loves Dublin Airport, we are sure you won’t find one, and if you do, they probably don’t travel much. Most locals love to complain about the lack of facilities and crazy queues at the airport, and that’s saying something – so take their word for it.

While there are a few good features at this airport, the frustrating things far outweigh the others, so make sure you’ve had a good night’s sleep, had plenty of coffee and leave plenty of time before attempting to catch a flight to or from this crazy airport.
