American Youtuber Randy Santel is back in Belfast to get on the XXL Goliath Ulster Fry Challenge in Belfast once more. This time, he is joined by Katina Dejarnett, AKA Katina Eats Kilos, another professional eater and Youtuber.

Randy Santel headed to The Newton Café Brunch Bar on the Newtownards Road in Belfast to take on this challenge for the second time. The US Youtuber takes on the XXL Goliath Breakfast Challenge.

In 2014, he completed the challenge, which involves consuming around 6 lbs of Ulster fry foods like sausages, eggs, bacon, soda bread, and so much more, in ten minutes and eight seconds.

However, competitive eater and Youtuber Bob Shoudt still holds the record of completing the challenge in just seven minutes and 43 seconds.

US Youtuber takes on XXL Goliath Breakfast Challenge in Belfast – only nine people have completed it

Randy Santel is back in Belfast to take on the XXL Goliath Ulster Fry Challenge once again. This time he was joined by his partner and fellow professional eater, Katina Dejarnett.

Over 1,000 people have attempted and failed the challenge, and nine people to date have completed the challenge, including Randy himself in 2014.

This challenge in Belfast was the sixth out of eight challenges the pair took on in Northern Ireland. He said, “After finishing up our 7-week Republic of Ireland Tour, Katina and I spent 2 weeks exploring most of the major cities and areas around Northern Ireland.

“During our travels, I attempted 8 Northern Ireland man vs food restaurant challenges”.

The challenge – a whopping amount of food

Anyone who takes on the mammoth challenge must eat the contents of the Ulster fry in under 45 minutes. Failure to do so means paying £20 for the meal, which is not bad considering the sheer amount!

If you complete the challenge, however, you get your meal for free and a picture to go on the fry-up Wall of Fame.

On what the challenge consists of, Randy said, “There were 4 pieces of soda bread, 4 pieces of toast (8 halves), 2 pancakes (4 halves), 4 potato pancakes, 4 sausages, 4 bacon rashers, 4 fried eggs, 2 tomatoes (halves), 2 fried hash browns, 2 pieces of black pudding, lots of grilled mushrooms, 1 tin of baked beans, and 1 full kilogram of chips (2.2lbs).”

Locals and fans from the area came out to watch and applaud the pair as they took on the challenge.

This time around – eight years on

This time around, Randy went into the challenge knowing full well that he wasn’t going to beat it with the impressive time of ten minutes like he did when he was a “young stallion”.

With cheers and applause from those in the café, he completed the challenge this time in 23  minutes and 48 seconds. Katina finished the meal in 33 minutes and 38 seconds.

Randy Santel thanked The Newton Café for the food, drinks, and hospitality, and in response, the café said, “Randy and Katina both came today to knock down Goliath and both of course were successful.

“Thank you to them and everyone else that came along to cheer them on”. Do you think you could take on the challenge? You can check out more of Randy’s Irish challenges here.
