After rising to fame in recent years, with ‘Outnumbered’ and ‘Better Days’, here’s another reason for fans to fall in love with Dermot Kennedy.

The singer has announced that he’ll be playing two gigs at Dublin’s 3Arena next month, all for a fantastic cause.

The gigs will be in aid of Irish charities Focus Ireland and Pieta House.

Now, he’s announced that he will play two massive shows in 3Arena on 13 and 14 December in a bid to raise money for the Irish charities.

Dermot Kennedy is playing for two nights in his home ground in aid of Pieta House and Focus Ireland.

Pieta House is a mental health charity that provides services to those who are struggling with suicidal distress and/or self-harm.

Meanwhile, Focus Ireland supports those who are homeless and at risk of becoming homeless all across Ireland.

Dermot Kennedy is committed to aiding those in need, and his new gig dates in Dublin are sure to have fans coming from near and far.

General tickets go on sale this Friday 19 November at 9 am on Ticketmaster.

Kennedy confirmed the shows, saying, “I’m so grateful to be playing two shows in Dublin this December in aid of Pieta and Focus Ireland, two incredible charities.

“Suicide and homelessness are two issues that are sadly so prevalent in Ireland today.”

He continued, “There are so many people that badly need our help, especially at this time of year.

“Please think of them and let’s come together and raise as much money as we can for these extremely important causes.”

Kennedy has shot on to the Irish music scene and beyond in the past few years, with 2021 certainly being a highlight for the artist so far.

His single ‘Better Days’ found a spot on the UK’s Top singles chart. Meanwhile, in Ireland, it reached the top five. All in all, Kennedy has become the biggest selling Irish artist for the millennium.

His success hasn’t stopped there, though. It seems that Dermot Kennedy is in great demand, with his album selling 1.7 million copies worldwide.

Last September, he performed to over 90,000 fans around the UK, including making a quick stop to Alexandra Palace in London and performing three sold-out shows.

Meanwhile, a highlight in US has been his sold-out performance at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

Whatever is in the future for Kennedy, it’s clear he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
