“And they’ll feast, feast, feast, feast. They’ll eat their Who-Pudding and rare Who-Roast Beast” and an incredibly lifelike Grinch cake!

Everyone has their favourite festive movie. For some, it may be the family favourite classic Home Alone; for others,it’s the fun and frolics of Elf that gets them in the festive spirit.

However, for many of us, it isn’t Christmas until our favourite green Whoville resident takes to the screen. That’s right; we’re talking about the Grinch.

The hilariously heartfelt festive family film, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, was released in 2000 with Jim Carrey as the protagonist and Anthony Hopkins narrating the voiceover.

The fantasy comedy-drama captured the hearts of money, including one NI woman who created an impressive and incredible lifelike Grinch cake.

Lara Mason, originally from Northern Ireland, now lives in Brownhills in the West Midlands with her husband, Nick.

Here, she owns and runs her very own bakery ‘Cake Anything with Lara Mason’ and has gained a reputation for her stunningly lifelike creations.

Her latest bake has been a social media sensation, gaining millions of views on Tiktok, as she shows the process of making an incredibly lifelike Grinch cake.

What’s even more impressive is that Lara had only three days to make the cake after being struck with an illness then contracting COVID at the start of December.

After being a viral social media hit, the Grinch himself spotted the cake made in his image.

Canadian-American actor Jim Carrey, who portrayed the Grinch in the 2000 film, took to Twitter to respond to the video.

He said, “My ultimate goal is not just to be admired by my fans, but to be eaten by them.

“I wonder if she does an angel food Ace Ventura?”

Judging by Lara’s previous bakes, we bet she’d give a lifelike Ace Ventura cake a good go – and we can’t wait to see the results.

How the cake was constructed – a delicate process

In the video posted on Tiktok, Lara shared the intricate process of making her incredibly lifelike Grinch cake.

Pretending to respond to a phone call from a customer, Lara said, “You want it hyper-realistic, standing on one leg, and lifesize? Anything else?”

She continued, “You want me to give myself 17 days to do it…

“But I end up getting ill and needing surgery. So, then I have five days left to do it… But I contract COVID. So, then I have three days left to do it.

“But I’ve got to look after two kids while getting ready for Christmas and developing an ear infection?

“I mean, that does seem oddly specific, but I’ll give it a go.”

The video then continues to show Lara constructing the amazing cake, shown standing on one leg in typical Grinch-sneaking-about-as-Santa-on-Christmas-Eve fashion.

We then see Lara adding the little details, which go a long way to creating the realistic effect of her cake.

The final result is truly incredible, but we don’t think we could bring ourselves to eat it!
