Ireland is like a gold mine when it comes to musicians. With all this talent, the next global music phenomenon is not far.

Music reaches the world. For some of the new artists, it’s the support of established musicians that kicks off their career. Others went from busking to big venues.

Whatever path they’ve taken, their story isn’t over yet. Far from it. Let’s look at five Irish musicians who can break into global success.

5. Roe Byrne – the next big thing in Irish music

Roe Byrne started out busking on Grafton Street and played his first headline show at Dublin’s Sound House.

He’s a singer-songwriter who blends pop with indie influences. His songs are emotional and melodic, making use of storytelling and heartfelt lyrics.

He collaborated with twocolors on the song “Stereo”, pairing his voice with electronic music, showing just how versatile he is.

Dermot Kennedy, an incredible musician to keep an eye on, called him “the next big thing in Irish music” in 2023. So we should all keep an eye on what he puts out next. He can go far.

4. F3miii – indie dance vibes calling

F3miii, pronounced Femi, is a producer and vocalist from Dublin. He’s known for his melodic voice and the dance vibes in his songs.

He started out singing in a gospel choir and has already performed at Trinity Ball, Forbidden Fruit festival, and The Academy.

F3miii’s headline shows in London and Dublin were sold out in recent years, and he’s been featured in several Spotify editorial playlists.

He is definitely considered a fresh find, and we can see him filling the dance floors with his music all over the world.

3. Aaron Rowe – an incredible voice and a storyteller

Aaron Rowe opened for Lewis Capaldi last year. That should tell you something. With the recognition of other top musicians, it’s only a matter of time until the world knows his name.

Rowe’s known for his incredibly strong voice and his personal storytelling. So how did he start out to become one of the voices to watch? Playing at a pub that was visited by Lewis Capaldi.

He played a sold-out tour in Australia earlier this year. Soon, he’ll be going on tour in several UK cities – and again, it’s already sold out.

Aaron Rowe will also be one of the support acts for Ed Sheeran’s tour in the US. With all this exposure, he’ll quickly win over audiences worldwide.

2. Amble – folk sounds with a modern twist

Amble are a contemporary folk band from Dublin. The members are Robbie Cunningham, Oisín McCaffrey, and Ross McNerney.

The band is known for their heartfelt sound that mixes traditional folk influences with emotionally strong storytelling.

Their songs are full of personal feelings and remain timeless. Their blend really resonates across a variety of genres.

Amble opened for Hozier, one of Ireland’s best singers, and they played their own sold-out shows. This spring, they’ll be opening for Dermot Kennedy, captivating audiences across Europe.

1. Oscar Blue – giving storytelling a voice

Oscar Blue is a singer from County Clare who goes all in when it comes to storytelling. He broke 6 million streams on Spotify and is seen by many as the next big voice coming from Ireland.

The singer-songwriter is a mix of indie with folk-pop vibes. He finds the right words, and his songs are catchy and stay with the listener.

He’s already played sold-out shows in Ireland and the UK, and his music is featured on several radio stations.

Oscar Blue’s debut album will be released in April this year, and can only cement his spot in music across Ireland and the rest of the world.

These five musicians have already taken up their spots in the Irish music scene, filling concert venues across the country.

With their unique sounds and growing international exposure, they’re perfectly positioned to make their mark globally. One day, they might even be on the list of the most famous Irish musicians.
