“Gay Marriage is immoral,” says priest in tweet from Epstein Island

A former Dublin based priest has taken to Twitter to condemn same-sex marriage. Fr Damien O’Brien viciously attacked those as who “engage in the unholy and satanic lewd practise of homosexuality.”

O’Brien was formerly the Parish Priest of Rathlurc Parish in South County Dublin and retired from his post in May 2010. The priest made his absurd remarks late on Friday evening.

“It’s a shocking and disgusting sin.” Fr O’Brien’s tweet starts. “It’s only Satan himself who would indulge in that sort of behaviour, a shocking and immoral act. These people are worse than animals. Even the animals in the fields don’t behave like this.

“Those involved in same-sex relationships should be taken out and shot and their bodies fed to the pigs after they are hung, drawn and quartered. And now they’re allowed marry!” Fr O’Brien’s tweet slightly overran Twitter’s character limit and also probably their decency rules.

Fr O’Brien has more than 600,000 followers on Twitter, most of whom are located in America’s Bible Belt area. Although, according to Twitter analytics, Fr O’Brien also has a large number of followers among the Democratic Unionist Party in East Belfast.

    Mixed reactions to the tweet

Reactions to Fr O’Brien’s tweet were both fast and furious, with a sample of the comments extracted and copied below. “Good on you Father, tel dem gay-boys wats wat” was one from Sillis in Texas. “Let them burn in Hell,” said George from East Belfast.

“Hi, Fr O’Brien,” commented Cindy from the Rathlurc under age Girl’s Hockey Team, Dublin. “When are you coming back? All the girls miss you xxx,” Cindy said, before commenting; “Oh Yeah, I never told me, Daddy.” “I’ve just read me daughter’s twitter, I’ll fecking bust you, you shagging pervert,” Cindy’s dad furiously tweeted.

    O’Brien transferred to the Caribbean

Readers of Meanwhile in Ireland may be aware that Fr O’Brien was suddenly transferred from his Dublin Parish by the Bishop some years ago.

Fr O’Brien was known locally as a priest who devoted himself selflessly to the female youth of the parish and was actively involved with training the under-age girls’ hockey team along with acting as spiritual advisor to the local Girl Guide troop.

At the time of his sudden transfer, a spokesperson for the Bishop said; “Fr O’Brien and the Bishop have held urgent discussions which lasted way into the night and the Bishop feels that a transfer to Little Saint James Island in the Caribbean would be appropriate.”

    No plans to return

It was pointed out to the Bishop’s spokesperson that Little Saint James Island was, at that time, owned by the now disgraced and deceased former billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein. The spokesperson responded; “Even billionaires need spiritual guidance every now and then.”

Meanwhile in Ireland understands that Fr O’Brien currently has no plans to return to Dublin and in his position as the parish priest of Little Saint James Island is actively promoting girls volleyball on the island. We also understand that Cindy and her baby are both doing well.
