A tourist from the USA was reunited with an Irishman she fell for on a night out in Dublin – after a powerful appeal on social media that went viral.

Eryka Alzaga couldn’t stop thinking about Meath man Colm since she left Ireland. She regretted never never exchanging details with him.

The woman from San Diego decided to take to Facebook on the Ireland Travel Tips Facebook page find out if anyone knew Colm.

Writing to the group, she said: “Okay, so this is a long shot and I’m a hopeless romantic but my last night in Dublin I met this guy name Colm I believe his last name is Harvey ???.

“My sister and I hung out with him and his friends all night but I never got contact information and I’m shooting myself in the foot for this.

“I’ve searched on Facebook with no luck. A part of me wants to leave it to the universe and the other part wants to give the universe a push. I’m planning on going back next summer and stopping by his town Ashbourne in Meath county”.

“I’m not expecting happily ever after but hey if you find this man can you send him this way, please.”

She was in lucky after just 10 hours as Eryka was put in touch with lover-boy Colm.

Eryka said: “So for my co workers who have heard all my Ireland stories guess what – I have found him!!! Via Facebook.

“It’s 1am over there so he still doesn’t know but they have found his neighbor, sister and classmate.”

All the comments on her social media post were extrememly postivie and everyone was very happy for the couple!

    God bless the internet.
