    Missing Irish fan found alive after a ‘mad few days’

    Irish fans in Paris

    The Irish fan who had been reported missing in Paris has been found alive and well, an FAI spokesman in Versailles has confirmed.

    Lee MacLaughlin, from Gleneely in Donegal, travelled to France with two other family members and all three were due to fly home yesterday.

    The FAI announced on on Twitter: “We can confirm that missing supporter Lee McLaughlin has been found safe and well. Thank you to everyone that assisted.”

    A spokesperson for the Irish Embassy also confirmed Lee had been found safe and well this morning.

    RTE reports that Lee made contact with his family earlier this morning and has been reunited with his father and sister.

    He contacted his sister by phone and they located him at a prearranged location in Paris, RTE added.

    We are so happy that this young lad is alive and we can only guess that he was having too much of a great time with the Irish lads! Its been a mad few days for the Irish fans after all.
