Following his recent Golden Globe win and Oscar nomination, Farrell has experienced more success as he has been officially included on Time magazine’s list of the 100 “Most Influential People” in 2023 as he was included in the “artists” section.

Besides being honoured for his latest contributions to the movie industry, he was also honoured for his own personal character and for being a great actor to work with, according to one of his former co-stars who wrote in praise of the Irish actor for Time Magazine.

Concerning 2022, it could easily be claimed to have been one of, if not the most successful, year in Colin Farrell’s acting career.

Not only did he star in the Academy Award Best Picture nominee The Banshees of Inisherin, but he also played a massive role in the smash-hit blockbuster The Batman and the Thai cave rescue thriller Thirteen Lives, as well as the acclaimed sci-fi drama After Yang.

2023 is already another excellent year for the Irish actor as he is set to star in The Penguin,  a spin-off series from The Batman (2022) film.

Actress Nicole Kidman, who has worked alongside Farrell in the past, wrote in praise of him in Time Magazine.

She said, “When Colin Farrell and I starred together in the 2017 films The Beguiled and The Killing of a Sacred Deer, I felt like I had found both my knight in shining armour and my partner in crime.

“He was very emotionally open with me, and I’m very protective of him. I admire his tenacity, his resilience, and his great sense of humour. He’s got such an Irish kind of sensibility”.

She added, “Colin has always been about doing the work and not building up his stardom or legacy. As a result, he’s risen to the top—and this year, he received his first Oscar nomination for his incredible performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.

“It’s lovely to see someone who’s been so resilient and committed, and pure finally being lauded for what he does. He also seems to look younger every year”.

Farrell was joined on the Time100 list by several other great actors. Much like Farrell, some of the names included had much success in the industry in the last year.

These include Ali Wong, Angela Bassett, Aubrey Plaza, Austin Butler, Jennifer Coolidge, Ke Huy Quan, Lea Michele, Michael B. Jordan, Natasha Lyonne, Pedro Pascal, Salma Hayek Pinault and Zoe Saldaña.

The list includes influential people from different walks of life, too, like US President Joe Biden, England’s King Charles III, and Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska. You can check out the complete list here.
