The spiciest bet around; Irish burrito chain Boojum pledge to give away 500 free burritos on Saturday – but only if England pulls off a win against Ireland.

Burrito lovers in Leeds could get their hands on free burritos this weekend if England come out victorious.

As the much-anticipated Ireland v England UEFA Nations League clash approaches this Saturday, one popular Irish burrito chain has bet 500 burritos that Ireland will win.

Boundary-bashers Boojum launched the bet with a list of ‘Things the Irish are better at than the English’, which they unveiled on the side of a building in Leeds City Centre.

With football being one of the additions to the list, the Boojum team are confident in the Ireland team’s ability to take home a win this weekend.

Backing the Boys in Green, the popular Irish burrito chain has pledged to give away 500 burritos if England beat Ireland on Saturday.

The teams will go head to head during their UEFA Nations League clash at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin this weekend. A highly-anticipated match on both sides of the Irish Sea, Boojum’s bet is certainly adding to the excitement.

However, having recently launched their first store across the water, the free burritos will only be available from their Leeds outlet.

Not ones to go small, the Irish burrito chain announced their pledge to give away 500 burritos if England beat Ireland with a huge banner proclaiming a list of ‘Things the Irish are better at than the English’.

With no holds barred, the list included everything from Eurovision and the craic to brewing the perfect cup of tea. They also claimed the Irish excel at frying up breakfast, pouring a proper pint, and, of course, making burritos.

With plenty of confidence in Ireland’s ability to take home a win this weekend, they also included football on their list.

David Maxwell is Managing Director of Boojum. He said, “We’re delighted to have recently brought our burritos across the water, with our recent opening in Leeds, but this weekend we’re all in for Ireland.

“The English might typically have the edge in football. But when it comes to the craic, Eurovision, and, of course, burritos, Ireland is in a league of its own. If our lads do the job on the pitch, we’ll happily save those 500 burritos for another day!”
