The popular thriller drama series which airs on BBC is returning, and this time Jamie Dornan will reprise his role as ‘The Man’ in Ireland, which fans eagerly await.

The first season of The Tourist was a huge success, and now that the Belfast actor has been spotted around Wicklow, followers of the show are anticipating the release of the upcoming new series.

Following the success of the show’s gripping debut, it was inevitable that it would return to our screens once again. The show captivated audiences with its intriguing storyline set in Australia, and with Dornan as its star, it was no surprise that the show was such a hit.

Recent sightings have confirmed that the production team have been busy filming the upcoming series in scenic locations around the country, and the star has most recently been spotted filming in Bray and Djouce Woods in Wicklow.

The series follows a man suffering from amnesia after an encounter with an unknown driver who ran him off the road; only this time, the new season will continue a year on from the story of the first season and will be set in Ireland.

It seems we are not the only ones excited for the reprisal, with the Belfast actor stating recently, “I’m incredibly excited to continue the story with The Tourist”.

Praising the show’s talented writers, he added, “Harry and Jack Williams are brilliant writers. I can’t wait for audiences to see how well Ireland and its characters are utilized to keep them guessing as the tale progresses.”

The new season promises to keep the audience guessing, and the show’s creators have revelled at the exciting journey of delving into the world of the show’s quirky characters again.

The Williams brothers emphasised their commitment to delivering a tonally unique and offbeat drama while exploring new horizons in the upcoming season.

With filming underway, fans of the show can’t wait to see how The Tourist progresses, and no doubt it will have us on the edge of our seats.

As Jamie Dornan, Greg Larsen, and the rest of the talented cast bring the story to life again, this time against the backdrop of Dublin and the Irish countryside, anticipation builds for the next thrilling instalment, and we cannot wait.

The creators have said, “The Tourist was unlike anything we’d written before, and we’re hugely grateful for the incredible response to series one”. Only time will tell what quirky storylines await in the brand-new season of the BBC series.
