The dessert is an extremely popular one in Ireland, as almost everyone enjoys it! Making this treat after a meal will always go down well with your guests!We have chosen a video from Irish chef Donal Skehan who has turned the famous dessert into a cake.

Irish chef Donal Skehan turned the famous dessert into a cake. The ingredients for this dish are found below and his video guide follows. The amazing video has been viewed over 100,000 times.

Ingredients (for 6-8 people)

110g butter plus extra for greasing
150g soft light brown sugar
2 large free range eggs
210g plain flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
300g peeled, cored and sliced cooking apple (Shouldn’t be more than one large one)

For the crumble topping:

50g of vanilla sugar (or substitute with caster sugar)
50g of plain flour
50g of butter
