Lovers of roast dinners had a lot of reasons to rejoice recently as the roast dinner burrito officially landed in Dublin!

The roast dinner has long been one of the main staples of the Irish diet, traditionally enjoyed on Sundays.

Roast dinners in Ireland mainly consist of roasted meat, roast potato or mashed potato and are usually accompanied by stuffing, vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and gravy.

Fans of this traditional Irish meal will be delighted to hear that they can now enjoy it in burrito form as the roast dinner burrito has officially become available at a Dublin restaurant known as Drippin’ Gravy.

The restaurant Drippin’ Gravy opened recently during the Easter period at the Pillar Bar on Westmoreland Street in Dublin.

Drippin’ Gravy is a restaurant that offers delicious roasts adorned with all the trimmings, such as duck fat roasties, honey roast carrots, and meticulously prepared bone gravy.

Most popularly, for lovers of roast dinners, Drippin’ Gravy serves roastaritos, best described as a roast dinner wrapped in a burrito.

Besides offering roastaritos, the menu at Drippin’ Gravy is full of other delicious dishes to try, such as a buttermilk chicken kiev covered in their prized gravy, boozy hotdogs and a brilliantly packed bacon double cheeseburger.

Those who wish to see what new dishes Drippin’ Gravy at the Pillar Bar on Westmoreland Street have on offer should check out their Instagram, which is regularly updated with their latest creations.

The roast dinner burrito, or the Roastarito as Drippin’ Gravy has dubbed it, includes everything that makes a roast dinner great.

From maple glazed carrots to herby cashew stuffing and many more delicious ingredients conveniently packed into a tightly wrapped tortilla, this is one Dublin dish you need to try.

Drippin’ Gravy’s Roastarito comprises the following ingredients: roast rib of beef, wild garlic greens, bone gravy, maple glazed carrot puree, cashew and cranberry stuffing, bacon, and beef-drenched roast potatoes. They also offer a vegan version of the roast dinner burrito.

Thanks to its excellent restaurant scene, Dublin is undoubtedly one of the best European cities to visit for foodies. A recent study compiled data for all 44 European capital cities to create their Foodie Index Score.

In this study, Dublin placed 10th with a Foodie Index Score of 54.99 out of 100. Other interesting findings of the study were that Dublin had an average of 51.47 restaurants per square mile, with 22.03% offering options catering to vegans.

It also had 0.79 Michelin stars per square mile and a total of 148 cuisines on offer and found that, on average, visitors to Dublin can expect to spend approximately €80 for a three-course meal for a couple.
