The Temple Bar Irish Pub in Koh Samui, Thailand, is serving up happy hour cocktails for just 99 Thai Baht (THB). This is around €2.50 per cocktail! You didn’t think we were talking about Temple Bar somewhere else, did you?

If you think we were talking about Temple Bar in Dublin, you’re not alone, but you’re definitely not right. The last time a cocktail in the Temple Bar area of Dublin cost €2.50 was probably back in 1928.

No, we’re talking about The Temple Bar Irish Pub on the beautiful island of Koh Samui in southern Thailand.

You’ve been April fooled, except it’s not a lie; you actually will catch happy hour cocktails for just €2.50 in The Temple Bar Irish Pub. You might just have to make the journey to Koh Samui to avail of the offer though.

Just like anywhere else in the world, Thailand has its fair share of Irish pubs scattered around the country.

Bangkok has a number of great Irish pubs that serve up a cracking Sunday Roast. The Temple Bar Irish Pub in Koh Samui serves up some great happy hour offers, too.

For the benefit of your bank account, you can avail of happy hour cocktails for just 99 THB, and in typical Thai fashion, this happy ‘hour’ last for five hours between 3 pm and 8 pm.

However, if it’s a pint of Guinness you’re after; you are looking at a cool 300 THB, which gives the Temple Bar pubs in Dublin a run for their money as this converts to around €8.

When it comes to a pint or a cocktail in Dublin today, you could easily be looking at €10 for a pint and even more for a cocktail, depending on which bar you visit.

Other bars are, of course, a little more reasonable, but when looking at the tourist hotspot of Temple Bar, prices have sky-rocketed in recent years.

So, if it’s cheap happy hour pints and cocktails you’re looking for, you might want to hop on a plane to the Land of Smiles, AKA Thailand. You never know; it might be less expensive than a night out in Dublin.

If you do happen to be in Thailand, check out their page here for more details. Happy April Fool’s Day!
