A video of an African grey parrot from Belfast ordering a Chinese takeaway has gone viral on TikTok as the bird gives the order in a Northern Irish accent.

Watch as a Belfast parrot orders a takeaway.

Kelo, the parrot from Belfast, can be heard doing a great impression of his owner as he orders a “chicken rice” in a recent TikTok video.

The video has gained over half a million views and 70,000 likes in just four days. If this particular bird looks familiar, it might be because he also went viral in 2017 after chanting ‘Green and White Army’ in support of Northern Ireland.

Kelo is an African grey parrot, and they are known for both their extreme intelligence and talent. They are one of the most impressive mimicking birds on the planet.

This is proven in the viral video, where Kelo can be heard confidently ordering a Chinese takeaway. His owner, Linda Corry, said he began speaking with the accent at a very young age.

She said, “I got him when he was 13 weeks old, and he just began speaking like us, repeating everything he heard.

“It’s funny because he’d walk around with me and just pick up on everything that was being said around him”.

His owner said, “He still loves watching Northern Ireland and Liverpool in action”. Kelo has also gone with his owner to the 12th of July parades, and of course, he can even sing ‘The Sash’.

His owner got him back in 2014, and he has been brightening social media since. Linda said, “I mostly use TikTok to look at funny videos, but if I see him doing something funny, it will certainly be uploaded to TikTok.”

In the video, the Belfast parrot can be seen mimicking the sound of the phone ringing and saying, “Alright, chum”, in such a strong accent you would almost think someone behind the recording is speaking.

Kelo has been the source of hilarious material on social media for years now. Aside from him singing ‘Green and White Army’ and ordering a Chinese, he can be seen in other videos singing ‘Sweet Caroline’ and the Mo Salah song, to name a few.

He can even be seen in other videos waking his owner up as well as telling her to shut up! If you want to check out more of their content, you can check out their TikTok here.
