It made headlines across the Emerald Isle last year when the Hollywood superstar had to extend his stay in Ireland when the country was forced into lockdown to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Now, fans can finally see the results of why the 50-year-old actor was here in the first place.

The Last Duel is only one of a multitude of movies filmed on the Emerald Isle this year.
Earlier this month, fans were celebrity spotting as Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams explored the island during breaks from filming Disney’s Disenchanted, the follow up to the popular Enchanted.
Similarly, British actors Hugh Grant and Regé-Jean Page were spotted filming Dungeons and Dragons in Northern Ireland. Most recently, Elizabeth Banks posted snaps to Instagram posing at iconic Irish attractions.
Now, fans can get a long-awaited first look at Matt Damon’s new movie filmed in Ireland.
A Hollywood epic – based on a true story

The epic movie, directed by Ridley Scott, is based on the true story of King Charles VI.
The action-packed drama tells the tale of a dispute and subsequent duel between Knight Jean de Carrouges and his squire LeGris.
Damon co-wrote and starred in the epic tale alongside his longtime friend and colleague Ben Affleck.
