The cult classic Love/Hate spawned a dedicated fandom, bolstered by its talented cast of actors and actresses. Having enjoyed much success during the series’ run, you might be wondering where they are now.

The iconic Love/Hate Cast: Where are they now?

From its initial airing in 2010 to its finale in 2014, the Irish TV show Love/Hate took the country by storm. But you might be wondering about the Love/Hate cast and thinking, where are they now?

The much-loved third season was amongst the most-watched shows in the country, with around one million viewers tuning in to catch a glimpse of Dublin’s murky criminal underworld.

Fans were concerned when a year-long hiatus was announced after the fifth season, and, as it turned out, they had reason to be, as the show’s cancellation was announced shortly after.

So, what have the cast members been up to since the show wrapped up a decade ago? Let’s take a look at the Love/Hate cast to answer the question, where are they now?

    Table of Contents−

Perhaps one of the most famous faces in the Love/Hate cast, Robert Sheehan rose to fame as the young offender Nathan Young in Misfits.

But it was his stint as gangster Darren Tracey in Love/Hate that earned him a whole new fanbase. Still acting, you might also have spotted him in his starring role in The Umbrella Academy since 2019.

    9. Brian Gleeson – known for playing Hughie Power

Dublin native Brian Gleeson has been steadily making a name for himself, with recent stints on hit shows Bad Sisters and Peaky Blinders, alongside fellow Irish actor Cillian Murphy.

Brian is also known for being the son of Irish acting veteran Brendan Gleeson.

    8. Killian Scott – known for playing Thomas Daly

Hailing from Sandymount, County Dublin, Killian Scott has tried to keep much of his personal life out of the public eye.

But Scott’s professional life has been busy in the ten years since Love/Hate finished, seeing him play the lead in numerous shows and films. He even entered the world of Marvel in 2023’s Secret Invasion.

    7. Ruth Negga – known for playing Rosie Moynihan

Born in Ethiopia and raised in County Limerick, Negga is an acting graduate of Trinity College Dublin. If you’re wondering about the Love/Hate cast and where are they now, this is one name that might come to mind.

Negga has seen great success since wrapping Love/Hate, being nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Screen Actors Guild Award, the Golden Globes, and the BAFTAs for her role as Clare in the 2021 movie Passing.

    6. John Connors – known for playing Patrick Ward

Born in London to an Irish travelling family, Connors appeared in the later seasons of the show.

Connors went on to win the IFTA Award for Best Actor in 2018 for starring in the film Cardboard Gangsters, which he also wrote.

    5. Tom Vaughan-Lawlor – known for playing Nigel Delaney

Tom Vaughan-Lawlor has come a long way since the days of Nigel ‘Nidge’ Delaney.

Since 2014, he has broken onto the world stage with his roles in mega-films such as Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel, Avengers: Endgame.

    4. Peter Coonan – known for playing Frances Cooney

Limerick native Peter Coonan was highly praised for his role as Francis ‘Fran’ Cooney. But he hasn’t stopped working since those days.

Coonan can be seen in the hit shows Peaky Blinders and the Irish-based black comedy Bad Sisters, in which he stars alongside Sharon Horgan.

    3. Aidan Gillen – known for playing John-Boy Power

It is safe to say Gillen is probably one of the most famous faces in the cast of Love/Hate. But what has he done since? Quite a bit is the answer.

A household name even before 2010 due to iconic roles in shows like Queer as Folk, Gillen solidified his success as Little Finger in the smash hit series Game of Thrones.

Among his varied filmography, you’ll also spot him in Peaky Blinders. Is anybody else sensing a theme here?

    2. Ruth Bradley – known for playing Mary Treacy

Born in Dublin, Ruth Bradley played Mary on Love/Hate. However, in the last few years, you might have spotted her in the folk horror film The Wonder.

The film, starring Florence Pugh, is set in Ireland shortly after the Great Hunger. It centres around a girl who refuses to eat and mysteriously manages to stay alive.

    1. Barry Keoghan – known for playing Wayne

Before he was winning awards and gaining international attention, up-and-comer Barry Keoghan played the character of Wayne on Love/Hate.

From Dublin to Hollywood, Keoghan has blown up in recent years, thanks to films like Saltburn and Banshees of Inisherin.

So, it is safe to say that no one mentioned here has been resting on their laurels since Love/Hate ended in 2014. The much-loved Irish show also proved to be a springboard for the careers of many Irish actors who have since taken the world by storm.
