With their Twitter bio reading, “Catch flights, not feelings with Europe’s favourite airline”, you just know their responses are going to be good.
Ryanair has built an interesting reputation for itself over the years. Flights are generally as cheap as chips, but customers will still take to social media to express disdain over extra fees incurred for baggage allowance, sitting together, et cetera, et cetera.
So, with all the online hate Ryanair has to deal with, they must have a clever marketing team because their responses are usually pretty funny and sometimes quite savage. So, let’s take a look at ten of the most savage Ryanair responses on Twitter.
- With their Twitter bio reading, “Catch flights, not feelings with Europe’s favourite airline”, you just know their responses are going to be good.
- 10. Bend your knees – simple
- 9. That’s called being unemployed Dan – get a job, Dan
- 8. Read that again, but slowly – cheeky airline
- 7. We fly to Turkey – Harry Styles shade
- 6. The window controversy – the scourge of 11A
- 5. If we told you it wouldn’t be a surprise – never let them know your next move
- 4. It’s a seat, not a pair of jeans – they’re not wrong
- 3. Hun, this is not your plane – tell them how it is
- 2. STOPBEINGCHEAP15 – they don’t hold back
- 1. Compensation – a clever clap back
10. Bend your knees – simple
When one Ryanair customer took to Twitter to ask what the rules are for tall people sitting on planes when their legs don’t fit in normal seats, Ryanair replied, “Bend your knees”.
9. That’s called being unemployed Dan – get a job, Dan
Dan took to Twitter to say, “I am a dedicated Ryanair hater”, to which Ryanair responded, “That’s called being unemployed Dan”.
8. Read that again, but slowly – cheeky airline
One customer took to Twitter to express disdain over having no window in their row during a Ryanair flight.
They tweeted a picture saying, “@Ryanair so I pay €12 for a seat…but a window isn’t included in the deal? Wtf”, to which Ryanair replied, “Read that again, but slowly”.
Now a €12 flight is nothing to shake a stick at, just as long as Ryanair doesn’t fine you for the handle of your bag sticking out of the luggage allowance check or something else ridiculous…
7. We fly to Turkey – Harry Styles shade
Pop Crave posted a photo of Harry Styles sporting a new shaved head. Ryanair shared the picture with the caption, “Interesting. In other news, we fly to Turkey”.
Turkey teeth, Turkey facelift, Turkey hair – we’ve seen it all, so we have to commend whoever runs the social channels for this one.
6. The window controversy – the scourge of 11A
It seems that on all Ryanair flights, at least one row gets stuck without a window in their aisle, in particular, seat 11A. This causes A LOT of controversy from disgruntled passengers, and Ryanair always seems to know how to quip back.
One customer posted a photo of a drawing of an airplane wing stuck to the place where the window should be, saying, “It’s ok @Ryanair, I fixed the issue on my return flight”.
Ryanair clapped back with, “But not your art skills”.
5. If we told you it wouldn’t be a surprise – never let them know your next move
We all know that there are plenty of deceitful things airlines do to get your money, and one of the biggest fears of any passenger taking on a Ryanair flight is how many extra fees or hidden charges they might incur on their journey.
When one customer queried this, saying, “Flying Ryanair today, how many surprise fees are they going to make me past this time?”.
Ryanair responded, “If we told you it wouldn’t be a surprise”.
4. It’s a seat, not a pair of jeans – they’re not wrong
Are Ryanair seats getting smaller, or is it just us? We know for a fact that many of you out there think the same!
Well, when one person took to Twitter to say, “Oh my god these RyanAir seats get smaller! I’m a size 8…and it feels tight even for me!”, Ryanair replied, “It’s a seat, not a pair of jeans”. If you’re reading this, Ryanair, are they actually smaller than before?
3. Hun, this is not your plane – tell them how it is
We do love a cheeky Ryanair clapback, and when Harry took to Twitter saying, “@Ryanair why is there a man working @BuzzAirOfficial on my plane”, they replied with, “Hun, this is not your plane”.
Some say Ryanair only speak the truth!
2. STOPBEINGCHEAP15 – they don’t hold back
If there’s one thing the airline prides themselves in, it’s being affordable. As such, one of the most savage Ryanair responses on Twitter came when a customer asked for a discount code, to which the airline responded, “STOPBEINGCHEAP15”.
1. Compensation – a clever clap back
The thing that people love about Ryanair’s social media responses is that whoever is in charge of them does not give a f**k about repercussions.
Biam Lown took to Twitter to share a picture of a text from Ryanair saying he would be compensated €4 for his flight being delayed.
He said, “Cheers for the €4 between two off [sic.] us like!! It’s just cost me €19 for 1 Burger King meal”. Ryanair simply responded, “*€15”.
