Just ahead of the spookiest day of the year, eBay has revealed the most popular Halloween costumes in Ireland this year.

Most popular Halloween costumes in Ireland this year, revealed.

With several films, shows, and characters being hits this year, some of these costumes come as no surprise.

eBay has revealed which costumes most people have bought from the Emerald Isle this year. So, if you want to get in on the trend, or avoid it, then take note.

The list below might give you inspiration, or it might make you change your mind about your costume this year. Is your planned Halloween costume on the list?

Costumes from movies – The King of Rock ‘n Roll, Barbie, and more

It has been revealed that one of the most popular Halloween costumes in Ireland this year is Peter Maverick Mitchell from Top Gun.

This comes as no surprise as Tom Cruise reprised the role in this year’s Maverick. So, this year on Halloween, keep an eye out for aviators, jumpsuits, and pilot jackets.

Next is Barbie, made popular this year by Greta Gerwig’s upcoming romcom starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

So, expect hot pink, pom poms, and probably a lot of couples dressed as the Barbie and Ken duo.

The most popular Halloween costume from a movie this year is Elvis. Baz Luhrmann’s biopic generated a lot of interest in the King of Rock ‘n Roll this year, so expect a lot of slicked-back hair and leather jackets.

First up on the most popular Halloween costumes in Ireland this year from TV shows are Maddy and Cassie from Euphoria.

The twinning looks of this pair are the second most popular costume behind Elvis, and we love it. You can expect dramatic makeup for Maddie, and probably from Cassie, too, since she copies everything her best friend does.

The next costume that Irish people are loving is the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus. Again, with the second instalment of the Halloween classic coming to Disney + in recent weeks, this comes as no surprise.

Another costume that is expected to pop up endlessly on Halloween in Ireland this year is Eddie Munson from Stranger Things.

Another costume that is expected to pop up endlessly on Halloween in Ireland this year is Eddie Munson from Stranger Things.

You just knew when the most recent series came out that this beloved character would be a favourite for Halloween.

The last costume that eBay has revealed to be very popular in Ireland this year is the Targaryen family from House of the Dragon. This could bode well as an ensemble costume or a solo one.

Whether it’s a couple costume as Daemon and Rhaenyra or one of the characters alone, you can expect lots of blonde or stark white wigs at Halloween this year.
