    There have been countless times that Daniel O’Donnell has went above and beyond for this fans, and throughout his years of fame and glory, there have been reports of his kindness to his faithful fans.

    10. Singing at a fan’s funeral – his kindness goes beyond the grave

    When a life-long fan, Cork woman Margaret McCarthy passed away earlier this year, Daniel and his wife Majella posted a condolence video online.

    During the ceremony, the undertaker got an unexpected phone call: Daniel had been watching online and asked if he could sing a song over the phone for his devoted fan.

    It certainly gave Margaret’s family a well-needed boost on such a sad day, and is one of the most special ways that Daniel O’Donnell has went above and beyond for this fans.

    A Radio One listener called to report that Daniel had once swapped seats with his aunt and uncle on a Seattle flight following the death of their son.

    Daniel approached the troubled couple in the departure lounge. To make their flight a bit easier, he insisted on swapping his first-class seats with their economy seats.

    Daniel O’Donnell went above and beyond for them, even staying with the couple in the lounge in an attempt to comfort them.

    8. Warning fans about scams – he cares about us all

    When a Facebook scammer posing as our Wee Daniel was reportedly trying to scam fans out of their money, Daniel took to social media to warn fans not to engage with the page.

    He truly cares about his fans, particularly those who may not be so good at social media and may fall for such a distasteful scam. There’s only ONE Daniel!

    7. Extending an invite to an upset fan – he hates to see a disappointed fan

    Daniel is aware that many of his fans may not have the physicality to attend his concerts, so he always tries to surprise his fans with a phone call, and these days even a video chat!

    There are tonnes of reports over the years of him surprising his fans with a quick chat to say hello, and that warms our hearts.

    Pensioner Ivy Hudson says she got the “surprise of her life” when Daniel knocked on the door of her retirement apartment in 1997.

    He held her hand, chatted to her, and gave the woman every bit of his attention. The woman, who could not attend his shows anymore, was delighted.

    When a fan tweeted Majella saying that their coach was going to the Daniel O’Donnell Visitor Centre the next day, the group arrived at the centre only to meet the couple.

    Majella had told Daniel about the tweet, and he responded, “I’d better go and see them then if it’s all fans”. What a trip to remember.

    3. More surprise visits – he always has time for a fan

    When Daniel found out that his fan Brigette was left disappointed after missing the opportunity to get tickets to a sold-out show, he came to visit her in her Norwich home.

    He not only spent an hour with the starstruck fan. A year later, he saw her at a show, and he instantly remembered her. What a beautiful story.

    2. Surprising a fan on a flight – there’s always time for a wee song

    Daniel found out he was on the same flight as a fan who also happened to be a birthday girl. So, he got straight up out of his seat.

    He belted out a quick round of the happy birthday song to surprise her over the in-flight announcements. What a man!
