5 reasons why SUPERMAC’S is better than MCDONALD’S

Supermac’s is a supreme leader in the Irish fast-food industry. We’ll hear nothing said in opposition to this fact.

5 reasons why SUPERMAC'S is better than MCDONALD'S.

Ah, Supermac’s. It truly is the temple of the Gods. The golden grail, the place of all things good. Yet, some blood traitors may challenge our opinion. Some have the nerve to say Mcdonald’s is better at the fast-food craft.

This article is not a welcome space for such blasphemous wretches. If you disagree with us, consider this a warning: our opinion won’t be swayed, and we’re ready to draw blood with anyone who challenges us.

We are here to tell you all the reasons why Supermac’s is better than McDonald’s, so you’d better sit down and listen closely.

5. Better chips − they definitely come from potatoes

Don’t get us wrong, the McDonald’s french fry is tasty, but it’s nothing on the Supermac’s chip. The Supermac’s chip is chunky and beautiful and will provide plenty of soakage after a hard night of boozing.

A McDonald’s chip is skinny and limp and will not fill you up in the same manner. Plus, Supermac’s has loaded fries.

Try ordering a curry cheese chip at McDonald’s; we dare you. They probably won’t even know what it is, the fools. Talk about uncultured swine.

4. Supermac’s isn’t run by a circus freak − why would you trust a clown?

We often hear people moaning about Pat McDonagh of Supermac’s. Still, in retaliation, we have this to say; at least he’s not a goddamn clown. Why are you putting all your trust into a sideshow circus freak?

Clowns don’t even learn about food preparation in clown college and, therefore not to be trusted. No wonder they don’t know what loaded fries are.

You should put all your trust in Pat McDonagh, an actual human man. This is one of the significant reasons why Supermac’s is better than McDonald’s. Disagree with us? Fight us.

3. Supermac’s has a gas marketing team − the sassiest poster campaign in Ireland

One of the reasons why Supermac's is better than McDonald's is their brilliant marketing team.

For those not in the know, Supermac’s and McDonald’s had a lethal Trademark battle in 2019. The Supermac’s marketing team took the whole thing in their stride.

Who can forget the posters showing the bin with the clown legs sticking out, complete with the slogan “never mind that clown”?

They even went so far as to rent billboard vans and park them outside prominent McDonald’s restaurants. Want an even better story? During the court case, Supermac’s hired actors to stage a fight outside the McDonald’s on Grafton Street.

The actors were dressed as a clown and the Supermac’s rabbit, with the clown beating up Supermac’s hero.

A poignant piece of performance art, which spoke volumes about how McDonald’s was trying to bully Supermac’s at the time. We love some sassy marketing.

2. Supermac’s didn’t back down against the bullies − they stood their ground, and it paid off

Supermac's wouldn't back down.

Beating the McBully is another one of the reasons why Supermac’s is better than McDonald’s. McDonald’s tried to block Supermac’s from trading under the Supermac’s name because the name sounded somewhat similar.

Supermac’s took a great risk standing their ground, being a much smaller franchise than the monster that is McDonald’s.

In a lengthy trademark legal battle, Supermac’s eventually came out reigning supreme, stripping McDonald’s of their BIG MAC trademark, allowing for smaller fast food franchises to expand globally.

1. It’s an Irish company − support Irish businesses

It’s always best to shop locally. What’s more local than Supermac’s? Nothing, that’s what. Definitely not McDonald’s, anyway.

Supermac’s first opened its doors in Ballinasloe in County Galway. And where did McDonald’s originate? California is where. Nothing very Irish about that, is there?

Would you rather give your money to an Irish-run business or one of the most giant fast-food corporations in the world known, which is also known to bully smaller franchises out of business?

We know who we’ll root for, and if you disagree with us, you’re just plain WRONG.

Bonus reason: You can get an actual plate to eat on in Supermac’s − McDonald’s doesn’t know of such luxury

Yes, you read that right. If you order fish and chips in Supermac’s, you get an actual plate with a real knife and fork; none of this disposable nonsense.

This is one of the biggest reasons why Supermac’s is better than McDonald’s. If you want a genuinely high-end meal, then Supermac’s is the place for you. Bon appetit.
