The time has come – applications are now closed for our latest dream job: Derry Girls TV Critic for Meanwhile in Ireland.

One step closer to bringing you the Ultimate Guide to Derry Girls.

With well over 100 applications from Derry Girls enthusiasts around the world, applications are now closed for our latest dream job.

As such, we are one step closer to bringing our readers the Ultimate Guide to Derry Girls, ranking every episode across three seasons in order accordingly.

    Applications – an overwhelming response

When the Derry Girls TV Critic job first went live, we could practically hear people everywhere exclaiming, “Is this a REAL job?!”.

Yes, the answer is yes. One talented individual is going to be paid to sit in the comfort of their home, watching and ranking every episode of the show to bring us the Ultimate Guide.

Since the job went live several weeks ago, we have had an incredible response. Derry Girls enthusiasts sent in applications from across the globe from the likes of Belgium, the US, Kurdistan, and Russia.

We have, of course, also received numerous applications from all over Ireland, too. Considering the incredibly high quality of the applications we have received, we are confident that we are going to delight fans with an amazing guide to every Derry Girls episode ever released.

Created by Derry woman and Freedom of the City Award winner Lisa McGee, Derry Girls follows the lives of four Derry teens and, of course, the wee English fella, as they venture through their primitive years at Our Lady Immaculate College in Derry.

The series first took to our screens in 2018 and ran for three incredible seasons, with the final season wrapping in 2022.

Upon its release, and even now that it’s over, the show has captured the hearts of fans locally in Ireland and all over the world. This is proven even further by the overwhelming number of applications we received from countries far and wide.

Once our newest recruit takes on the role, we will bring our readers a definitive ranking of every single Derry Girls episode across the three seasons.

Each episode will be given a ranking on a scale of one to ten, judged based on the plot, the humour, and the number of cracking one-liners within the episode.

A story of the lives of a group of teenagers in Derry, Northern Ireland, the show reached a worldwide audience that no one could have predicted.

Stay tuned for more updates on our Ultimate Guide to Derry Girls. In the meantime, why not check out our Father Ted Episode Guide?
