The wait is FINALLY over! The moment you have all been waiting for – the Ultimate Guide to Derry Girls has arrived, bringing you the best and worst episodes across the three seasons.

You might remember that back in February of this year, we took to the internet in search of the perfect candidate to watch, critique, and review the entirety of Derry Girls seasons one to three to bring our readers the ultimate guide.
We received hundreds of applications from Derry Girls enthusiasts all over Ireland and across the globe, hoping to take on the task.
Well, it was no easy task and one not to be taken on by the faint-hearted, but our trusty Derry Girls Critic came through in the end to bring us the definitive ranking of the best (and worst) episodes of the show.
The ranking – how was it put together?

Our Derry Girls reviewer, Lauren McCarthy, who hails from the ‘Rebel County’ Cork, sat down for three weeks to watch and review every single episode of Derry Girls to bring us the ultimate guide. Lauren lived out many people’s dreams – getting paid to watch Derry Girls.
A number of factors were considered when putting the guide together. Each factor was then ranked on a scale of one to ten for each episode. These factors were the plot line, the ‘laugh-o-meter’, and the quality of one-liners or funny quotes from the episode.
Basically, the episodes that tell the best story, make you laugh your head off, and have the most unforgettable laugh-out-loud quotes.
The best episode of Derry Girls – Series 3, Episode 7

In the very last episode of the series, ‘The Agreement’, we see the characters, both the young gang growing up at the tale end of the Troubles and the older generation who really experienced the worst of it, come to terms with their feelings about the impending Good Friday Agreement Referendum.
As the Derry Girls TV Critic put it, “A beautifully touching end to an incredible series, Lisa McGee once again expertly weaves the silly with the serious as the girls navigate birthday party drama and bigger decisions that will affect their futures”.
With a whopping ranking of 9.8/10 for the plot, 8.5/10 for the ‘Laugh-O-Meter’, and 10/10 for the one-liners and quotes, ‘The Agreement’ takes pride of place as the number one best Derry Girls episode of all time according to our guide.
The worst episode of Derry Girls – Series 1, Episode 4

Derry Girls was one of the most watched comedy series by Channel 4 and one of the best shows filmed in Northern Ireland, so are any of the episodes really ‘the worst’?
Well, when you’re ranking a series and giving out credit where credit is due, unfortunately, someone has got to come out on the bottom.
As per Meanwhile in Ireland’s Ultimate Derry Girls Guide, that episode is Series 1, Episode 4. In this episode, we see a group of Ukrainian students travel to Derry following the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
While it has its moments, like Erin thinking James and the other students are paying Katya for sex or when Artem the Ukrainian turns out to be Clive the Protestant from East Belfast, the Derry Girls Critic had her reasons for its shortfalling.
So, what do you make of Meanwhile in Ireland’s ranking? You can read the full ranking of every episode here.
